Aventura, Florida

Located just north of North Miami Beach, what is now the city of Aventura was originally swampland called “Biscayne Gardens”. Developers used the space to create a high-rise residential area called Aventura in the 1970s and 1980s and so when the city was finally incorporated in 1995 the name of Aventura, from the Spanish word for "adventure," was the obvious choice.

Today, Some of the Miami area's tallest and most prestigious condominium towers are located here.




Aventura is also home to the prestigious, high-end Aventura Mall.

Ranked as South Florida's #1 shopping destination among international visitors, voted Best Local Shopping Destination by the Miami Herald's "Hot List," and ranked one of the top five highest grossing malls in the country in sales per square foot, the 2.4 million square-foot multilevel mall recently completed a $22 million renovation featuring dramatic new architecture and distinctive design.

It is the largest conventional shopping mall in Florida, having over 250 shops

Aventura is between south Florida's two main airports, the Miami International Airport and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, both 15 minutes away.
