Crestview, Florida

Named for its location on the peak of a long woodland range between the Yellow and Shoal rivers, Crestview is one of the highest points in Florida.

The county seat of Okaloosa County, Crestview is today known as the "Hub City" of Northwest Florida, with quick and easy access to Fort Walton Beach, Hurlbert Field, home of the Air Commando, Eglin Air Force Base, and Duke Field air base.

Crestview enjoys a variety of water sports such as skiing, boating, fishing, parasailing, and jet skiing. There are 18 full service golf courses open year round In Okaloosa County.




Crestview museums like the Carver-Hill Museum works to preserve the African-American influence in the Crestview area. The Air Force Armament Museum on Highway 85 is the only museum in the world dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of artifacts and memorabilia associated with air force armament.

The Old Spanish Trail Festival Society maintains the Trail’s history with a festival in Crestview’s Spanish Trail Park on the last weekend in April (sometimes the first week in May).
