FLORIDA PLACES AND DESTINATIONS - DAVENPORT
Davenport is a small-town neighbor of Walt Disney World and other major Florida tourist attractions.
It is a popular destination for British visitors who rent their homes to British tourists for annual vacations to nearby Orlando. Davenport is centrally located southwest of Orlando with easy access to attractions like Universal Studios, SeaWorld Orlando, Wet & Wild, and Gatorland: Just 10 miles from Disney World along Interstate 4; Orlando is some 30 miles east of Davenport.
The beaches of Tampa and the Gulf Coast are only an hour’s drive from Davenport to the West along I-4, and the Atlantic coast is even less.
Davenport is near Lake Tohopekaliga, known for its bass fishing and Lake Marion. Lake Tohopekaliga, known to locals as Lake Toho, also offers fishing, boating, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Davenport, near numerous golf courses, offers visitors a huge selection of hotels and inns.
