FLORIDA PLACES AND DESTINATIONS - HAINES CITY
Haines City is so conveniently located in Central Florida that it is known as the "Heart of Florida".
Visitors to Haines City are kept busy with a string of festivals and celebrations. It kicks off the year with the Bluegrass Festival at Lake Eva Park; The Heart of Florida Senior Games come to Haines City each January, offering the over-55 group a great way to compete and have fun.
February has a “Taste of Haines City”, and in March the Heritage Days Festival celebrates the past. The USA's national independence day is high priority for Haines City and it culminates with a large fireworks display on the shores of Lake Eva.
The Annual Pig Roast & Political Rally is in August, and in September there is the Invitational Golf Tournament. Golf courses in Haines City include Diamondback Golf Club, Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort, Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club, Sun Air Golf Course, and Sweetwater Golf & Tennis Club.
October not only brings cool crisp weather, pumpkins and fall leaves, it also brings a fun-filled festival jam-packed with activities – Haines City’s Fall Festival. If you own a motorcycle or are just a huge bike fan, you have to stop in at Haines City’s Bike Fest, held the fourth Saturday of every month.
Haines City’s “Glitter Glisten and Snow” family event coincides with the City’s annual Christmas Parade.
