FLORIDA PLACES AND DESTINATIONS - INDIALANTIC

Indialantic, Florida

Indialantic’s official name is "Indialantic-By-The-Sea", a name derived from the town's location between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.

It is situated on the barrier island that separates the lagoon from the ocean. This island, about 35 miles in length, stretches south from Cape Canaveral to the Sebastian Inlet.

The Melbourne Causeway, composed of three bridges, connects Indialantic, a beachside resort town where there is boating, surfing, swimming, fishing, and walks on the beach or boardwalk strolls along the ocean, to Melbourne across the Indian River Lagoon. Indialantic is bordered on the south by the town of Melbourne Beach.

Indialantic is located about 60 miles southeast of Orlando on the Space Coast along Interstate 95, about midway between Jacksonville and Miami.
