Lake Worth, Florida

Lake Worth, in Palm Beach County, takes its name from the intercoastal waterway along its eastern border.

Downtown Lake Worth is home to the Lake Worth Playhouse, and the Museum of the City of Lake Worth.

Lake Worth hosts several major festivals such as the Street Painting Festival on the last weekend of every February in downtown Lake Worth when hundreds of artists transform the downtown streets into works of art. The festival includes street performers and strolling minstrels.




Finlandia Week in February is a celebration of Lake Worth's Finnish population; the largest Oktoberfest in south Florida is held every October just outside the city on Lantana Road.

The city also holds a biweekly street festival called "Friday on the Avenues" with both Lake and Lucerne Avenues blocked to traffic and food and art kiosks set up around the antique Town Clock in the square in front of City Hall Annex.

The John Prince Memorial Park on 726 acres on Lake Osborne features picnic and camping areas, fishing, nature trail, exercise trail, wheelchair course, many athletic facilities, playgrounds, picnic areas with grills. It includes the John Prince Golf Learning Center.

The Lake Worth Municipal Golf Course, an Old-Florida-style historic public course, is on the Intracoastal Waterway; the Park Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course.
