FLORIDA PLACES AND DESTINATIONS - MIDWAY

Midway Florida

Midway is part of the historical charm of Gadsden County in the Tallahassee metro area, named for its location between the State Capitol and Quincy.

Midway visitors can catch largemouth bass and enjoy nature walks, picnicking, boating, and canoeing at Lake Talquin while nature lovers in its rolling hills and deep ravines of forests can spy wild turkeys, bald eagles, ospreys, and deer. Thirteen miles of hiking trails have been blazed on the Ft. Braden Tract as well as a series of nature trails on the Bear Creek Tract. Lake Talquin State Forest has two Trailwalker hiking trails.

There is hunting at the Joe Byrd Hunting Club. Shade Leaf Farms is a tobacco farm owned and operated by the same family since 1847, offering hunting, fishing, camping, and wild game photography.

A scenic, quiet, 18 hole, par 73, Joe Lee designed 6,528 yard course is located on Hwy. 268 between Quincy and Gretna.
