Miramar, a city in Broward County, was named after a town in Cuba. The eastern portion of Miramar is known as Historical Miramar. 

Minutes from Florida beaches, for recreation Miramar offers Hard Rock Casino, Dolphin Stadium (Dolphins and Marlins), Calder Race Track, Bank Atlantic Center, Pembroke Lakes Mall, Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall, and Dolphin Mall.




Miramar is close to many of Florida's major attractions: The Museum of Science and Discovery in Ft. Lauderdale, the International Game Fish Association has the Hall of Fame for Sport Fishing in Dania Beach, Flamingo Gardens is a botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary at Davie, Butterfly World is in Coconut Creek. There are also multiple entrances to Everglades parks.
