New Port Richey, Florida

New Port Richey, once the home of silent screen stars, is now a pulsating community with an attractive historical downtown and Main Street. 

The Gulf of Mexico coastline borders the west side of New Port Richey and the Pithlachascotee River flows through its downtown on its way to the Gulf. Located in Pasco County, New Port Richey is considered part of the Tampa Bay area and its major attractions.
           
Walking and boat tours introduce visitors to the rich history and character of New Port Richey. At Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey, visitors stroll on the Pithlachascotee riverwalk.




West Pasco Historical Society Museum is housed in a 1913 schoolhouse. Baker House, one of the oldest “cracker-style” houses in the area, dates back to 1882.              

Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park has 13 miles of marked foot trails, a 9-mile horse trail and a 3-mile paved bike path. An additional 3.5-mile bike trail connects to the 42-mile paved Suncoast Trail.
               
Pasco County's Gulf Beaches, rivers and lakes offer fishing, canoeing, kayaking and scuba diving.
