Port Richey, Florida

Port Richey and neighboring New Port Richey on the Gulf of Mexico were named for Captain Aaron Richey who came from Missouri and established Port Richey in the 1880s.

There are several golf course around Port Richey and Gulf beaches, rivers and lakes offer fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and scuba diving. Three protected beaches are Robert K. Rees Memorial Park which offers undeveloped beaches edged in seashells, Hudson Beach which has an observation platform, and Anclote River Park




There is a regional mall located in Port Richey on US 19.

Port Richey parks are Brasher, Nicks, Oelsner, Rev. George Cook, Waterfront and Wilmslow. Nearby attractions include Weeki Wachi Springs and Tarpon Springs Sponge Dock.
