FLORIDA PLACES AND DESTINATIONS - SEASIDE

Seaside is part of Florida known as the Beaches of South Walton – a collection of 14 eclectic beach communities, characterized by dazzling sugar-white sands, sea oats, sand dunes, and brilliant emerald-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
In fact, Seaside, for the third year, has been designated a Blue Wave Beach from the Clean Beach Council. The Blue Wave, America’s first environmental certification for beaches, recognizes responsible beach management practices, including water quality, beach and inter tidal conditions, safety, services, habitat conservation, public education and erosion management.
Seaside was developed in the 1980s by developer Robert Davis as a “modern” Victorian town with narrow streets, picket fences, and dwellings.
Today the town has a vibrant mix of local attractions, from the nine, architecturally distinct pavilions at the end of each street to the beach, to shops, restaurants, an open-air market and an artists colony.
